Tuesday November 19, 2013 Battle Creek, Michigan (Channel 3) - Today, two local pubic school teachers are taking a stand against what they're calling "extreme temperatures" in school classrooms.
They've provided dozens of documents to the I-Team that confirm wild temperature swings in some classrooms inside their schools, and they asked us to investigate on behalf of students in the district.
Over the last 16 months that children were in school, we have evidence of close to two dozen reports to administrators regarding extreme temperatures at Harper Creek.
It's not just a couple of degrees they're complaining about, either. We found the concerns regarding temperatures as high as 86 during the warm months, and in the 40s and 50s in winter.
Newschannel 3 Chief Investigative Reporter David Bailey joined us to discuss why the teachers are coming forward publicly about student health concerns.
